html pages created on PC do not work on mac. the index page will open but the link to another folder creates an error that mac does not recognize the C: drive. I am in the process of changing my genealogy web page to a stand alone page to use on the local hard drive. I want to take the web page down and share via thumb drive with family.

HTML is a standard that does not care what platform you are on.

The probably as you describe it has nothing at all to do with HTML. It has to do with linking to asset files (pictures, movies, etc). It sounds like you are presently hard-linking to the files' current location (on a PC) but if that's the case then the minute you move the HTML file anywhere the links will be broken. You need to link to resources independently of the machine they are currently stored on.
