Need OSX Lion instead of Snow Leopard

I do photography and create movies. I do not use an iphone, ipad or similar devices. I was wondering what advantages/disadvantages I would experience if I changed to Lion verses Snow Leopard. I also don't need offsite access to my emails or programs on my computer. Any suggestions by those who might be in the same situation as I?

Do you already have Snow Leopard installed?

The major disadvantage would be any software you might be running that isn't supported by Lion.

Advantages: I like gestures better in Lion on my TrackPad; FileVault2 is great for handling encrypted drives; Other than that I honestly haven't run into anything that I would characterize as better, just different.

On the whole I am pleased with the upgrade and it only cost $29 total for all the Macs in my house
