iPod video doesn't organize music

Hi guys,

I just god my 30 Gb iPod video yesterday, and I'm pretty new to this, but I have a very odd problem and I can't seem to understand what I'm doing wrong...

Here's what happens:

I ripped a cd using iTunes 6 (Dream Theather's "Scenes from a memory"), have all the tracks in my library and they are all completely and correctly tagged (that is, Album, Artist, Genre and Year); when I upload them to the iPod though, the little beast doesn't organize the songs by artist or by album, but only by genre!!!

In other words, if I select Music -> Artists the iPod doesn't show "Dream Theater", instead all of my songs are already there, tragically unsorted...
The same happens if I select Music -> Albums.

I have already performed a software restore using iPod updater but it didn't help...

Please guys, if anyone could shed some light I would be very grateful...it's a very annoying issue...
