Pages for MBA and iPad

I downloaded Pages for my iPad and also have it on my iPhone, I now want to put in on my MacBook Air but it seems that I would need to purchase it again. Is this right or am I doing something wrong when it comes to putting it on my MBA?

You're doing nothing wrong. Pages for your iPhone and iPad is based on iOS. Pages for your MBA is based on OS X. In other words, two different operating systems, therefore, two different applications. So yes, you have to buy Pages for your MBA. $19.99 from the Mac App store.
