I am upgrading my iMAC 27" 3.4GHz i7 quad core, with 32GB RAM, 2GB GPU and 2TB HDD to add 2 OWC Mercury Pro Extreme SSD's -- i want to set them up in a RAID configuration and have the HDD as the mirror backup.
- i'm looking for maximum speeds, and with these two SSD's i should be around 1,100Mb/s I/O vs 550 with just one, or 258 with Apples, or 60ish with the HDD. Reliability is also some what of a concern, which is why i thought the RAID 01 or RAID 10.

Would i want a RAID 01 or RAID 10 setup to be precise? and are either of these possible?

-- and i apologize if this is more of a software issue.

Cheers,
Ky

Way... way too many specs to list.
I believe you need a minimum of 4 disks for either 01 or 10. I count 3 total drives in your configuration. If you want maximum speed, raid 0 would do it.. but without any redundancy.

Hmm. Crap, well maybe I'm needing a software raid setup. Not a hardware raid.
