Cannot send emails with attachments

We are using Outlook 2011 on our macs (OS: Lion and Snow Leopard) and when we send attachments we get the following error message:https: error the server cannot fulfill the request at which point this email is then sent to the 'draft' folder. The attachment does not exceed 1M. Has anyone come across this before?

Probably one of these two things:

1. You have your server set to use https (secure) when it does not require that.

2. Your ISP is having an issue.

Both possibilities can only be solved by having a chat with your mail provider.
