Apologies if this has been exhausted. I'm a new Mac user and can't get used to constantly having to input my password every time i install a program or do anything of significance. I have admin rights on my user account.
Any way around it?

No. The admin password will be requested by the system anytime it needs to make changes or install programs. And in some cases, even when deleting or removing some things. This is what makes OS X a safer operating system than some others such as Windows.

Well, let's find out what the OP actually means by "constantly."

The only time OS X *should* be asking for a password is if he's installing or deleting apps or mucking about in the system (which he shouldn't be doing obviously).

If you use the Mac App Store, you only have to input your iTunes password (much like on an iPhone or iPad), and software installs automagically, because Apple has reviewed those apps to be safe. If you're downloading apps from elsewhere, the Mac will make sure you really want to install it by providing your password.

The flip side is that you can rest assured that no application will be fooling around on your system without your knowledge and permission.

@Jake:

He's replying to a Spam post which has been removed. Yeah, we're still getting spammers. ;)

Phew…!!! That's a relief. I didn't think that Gandalph would be replying here now to a five year old message. :Smirk::Smirk:

A interesting looking place Duns. Scottish Borders is when viewing it in Google Maps as I tend to do, as I have not travelled much and never outside of western Canada (Alberta) at most for any Eastward travels.

It's a very small (tiny in fact) Market Town, Ten miles North of the English Border. Very quaint and quiet. Our Police station is part time from 09:00 to 17:00 hrs. and closed on weekends. It suits me. It also has the lowest Car Insurance rate in Britain because of the no crime situation, e.g. there isn't any.

It certainly seemed to be and seemingly in the midst of a large agriculture area it appears.

I often wonder what employment supports such places and their population.

The biggest two Employers around here are Farne Salmon who obviously prepare Farmed Scottish Salmon for the Supermarkets and a Company that does the Farm Vegetables for different outlets. They employ Hundreds of workers on assembly line type conveyor belt systems. Apart from those two Companies there is the odd job's in the Chemists and other local shops. In the main though there are not many job's around the area at all.
