I have a duplex network printer. I have gone to cups and set it up.

If I am in a web browser I can and if I am in word I do not get the double sided option. I have a screen shot that shows what I see for both the word print and web print. What am I missing? (sorry new to mac, works fine on my pc)

So I have a macbook prom and a HP1606dn.
I figured out my problem but I think there is a problem here unless I am missing something.

The printer supports automatic duplex printing, but by default it is turned off.

So in the default setup from any application (word, web, preview, etc), it will print one sided. If I check the box and/or change the layout binding option it will print two sided automatically then.

So I wanted to save paper and have two sided on by default. So I go to cups and change the default in the printer two two sided. Now I go to my various applications and it will only print one sided. Even in when I have the box checked that says two sided.

I have since figured out (in all applications) even though I have duplex on by default I need to go to layout and change the binding option to off. Then go back and turn the binding (long side) back to on. Then if I print it will do duplex.

It would seem that I have a bug somewhere because if duplex is on by default and all the boxes are checked to do duplex you would think that you should not have to do anything other the print to get duplex.

Any ideas on how to get this to work when the default is set on without having to turn two-sided to off and then back on?
