Macbook Pro; system 10.6.8. (just installed; clean install)
When holding the Option key at startup, startup manager only shows the internal hard disk.
I'm trying to make a bootable external drive and testing if it works.
System preferences shows the external USB drive but startup manager does not. I can start from the USB drive if selected in preferences but I need to see it at startup (for emergencies)
I read somewhere that disk image must be "folder mode blessed". Never read anything like it in all the stuff about "creating bootable external disks" instructions.
USB Drive is formatted and partitioned correctly, no errors... so how do i folder mode bless the disk image? is there another way to correct this? (i'm not a UNIX guy)
