What is this cable for and what did it come with?

I know it's an iPod/iPad dock connector to USB, but does anyone have any idea as to what this cable originally came with? It's not the standard Apple cable and it is much heavier and has a yellow video out as well. Thanks

It would seem that the cable you have there is one that allows you to plug your iOS device into a composite video input.

I think you are right Van. That's probably a third party version of that cable. They're often a bit thicker.
