AOL instant messenger

I was having problems downloading AIM from the AOL website, the download kept stopping at 3.2 of 3.4 mb. In order to fix the solution, I downloaded the mac program on a pc and sent it to my mac, installed it, and it seemed to work fine at first. Soon i started getting the error message saying that it had abruptly stopped. When i restart the program all of my preferences have been set back to default. Does anyone know why either of these would be happening/the solution to the problem?

www.adiumx.com its pretty much like aol except it has better features you can skin it and everything. i suggest trying it out. I'm sure most users on here use Adium too.

Don't use AIM its rubbish for mac. It has none of the features that windows AIM has (I think its been discontinued). If you have an iSight use iChat but otherwise use AdiumX as austing said.

I use iChat - much better than AOL IM. You just type in your AOL screenie and password and you can talk to anyone else who uses AOL or AIM.
