Hello -
I am running osx 10.5 on a g4 iMac and was greeted with the following scenario upon arriving home from work today:

Apparently, the browser window which had been left open was frozen - although the cursor moved freely so my wife was able to restart the computer in the finder menu.
Upon logging back in (to the admin account) she discovered that the account had been somehow reset. The desktop was empty of icons and programs behaved as if they had not been opened before.
All folders in the user folder were empty -

Looking at the Users folder showed it had been modified on last reboot.

Luckily I have backed up most important data not too long ago, but would very much like to retrieve the missing data if possible.

Disk utility returns that the drive is functioning fine....but aside from that, I have scant trouble shooting tools. Has anyone encountered this before or have any ideas?
I'm not really a power user but am willing to look under the hood.
Any help is appreciated!!!
