Folders and icons

Is it possible for when you create a new folder it creates one with a different icon instead of the original preset icon?

Like for example when i go and click to make a new folder instead of it being the original blue can i make it so it can be a custom folder or can that only be done by creating the new folder then after its made go to get info and drag the file on the folder icon
NOTE: (if confused by what i mean see attachment)

P.S. IM USING MAC OSX

Some people use Candybar to customize their icons but I have never used it. I do the same as you with "Info" and replacing the folder icon in the top left corner of the info window.
You can go to deviantart to view and download different folder icons.

but what i'm asking is if its possible to have it already done when you create a new folder without having to manually change it
