I am trying to format my macbook pro and for some reason when I try to boot from the actual disc, the computer gets stuck on the apple logo screen and does nothing. I can boot into the OS just fine, but not from the disc. I have also tried creating a recovery disc on an external HD, but that too gets stuck on the Apple logo screen.

Anyone else run into this issue?

G'day and welcome to the forums.

What 'actual' disc is this as Lion has not been released on a DVD only downloads from App Store or USB thumb drive. Did you make this disc yourself and how did you go about it?
