I'm having a problem downloading the "mac store" to download lion. It keeps telling me I'm not connected to the internet which I know isn't true since I was browsing the entire time it was downloading. If someone could help me the help would be more than welcome. Well jsyk it won't download the mac store because it won't let me update... I'm on 10.6 macbook pro 2010

I may not understand your question, but you don't need to "download" the Mac Store.

When you update 10.6 to version 10.6.8 the Mac APP Store icon automatically appears on your Dock after restart.

Well you see it won't let me update. It keeps saying I'm not connected to the interner when I try, but I'm clearly connected. I'm even browsing the web while it downloads.

Back to Razormac's question - are you using OS X.6.8 and does the App Store icon appear in the Dock?

Sorry but I don't understand ......

" It won't let me update " ..... who or what do you mean by " it " ?

" It keeps saying " .... who or what do you mean by " it " ?

" While it downloads " .... while what downloads. ?

I have the impression that you are not telling us everything.
Can you explain to us what it is you are doing .... step by step.

You are trying to tell us something, but I am not getting it .

Cheers ... McBie

I click the apple in the top let corner. I then click "software update" my mac searched for the update. Then the download starts. After about a hour it "finishes" but as it's installing it tells me it was never connected to the internet so it can not download. When the entire time I KNOW the internet connection was never broken. Trust me I'm just as confused as you lol

You still have not told us what you are downloading. OS X.6.8 - OS X.7? If you are trying to update Snow Leopard to OS X.6.8 try the combo updater.

If you have OS X.6.8 installed, and want Lion, the blue/white App Store icon is in the Dock. Click on that to go to the store and purchase Lion.
