After googling for a while I found answers, but all told me to use the disk utility in 10.5. Anyone have any ideas of how I can do this in OSX 10.7?

Same way. What's the problem you're encountering?

I go to the disk utility, and click on the sd card, now I can't find where to change the format. On the erase tab there is a format option, but it gives me: Mac OS Extended (Journaled), Mac OS Extended (Case-Sensitive, Journaled), MS-DOS (FAT) and Ex Fat.

Ex-Fat is the NEW FAT32. ;)

sorry, it's not FAT 32, it's the replacement for it. FAT should be the FAT32 equiv in Lion, as I recall.
