A wireless industry study has found that iPhone 4S owners on average use roughly twice as much data as iPhone 4 owners and three times as much as iPhone 3G users.

I wonder how much of this is "Siri related," and how much is web use.

Because; "An earlier inquiry into Siri's data usage discovered that the service consumes about 63KB per query. As such, using the feature 10 to 15 times a day would take up 18.5 to 27.7MB per month."

And in my experience, 15 times a day is way more than I use Siri... It's closer to half that on a busy day.

This may prove more problematic once Siri becomes really useful - right now she's only moderately useful so I don't talk to her that often.

Too many...
I think I use Siri...maybe once a week. I put my phone through it's paces, and am not afraid to use data.

I've only tried siri once, just to see what all the hoop-oola was all about. I'm not too impressed. I guess it's another gadget to play with.

I actually do use it a bit with setting alarms, but I always find myself double-checking the alarm settings just to make sure.

I really like siri and use it all the time to send text messages and if I speak clearly and slowly I'd say it's close to 95% correct and when it does make a mistake I get a kick out of what it thought I was saying. Yesterday I was texting my wife to get some rubbing alcohol for my prosthetic "shrinker" it spelled it as "schricker" I've had a few other funny spellings but I thought that one was good.

I don't think Siri would be the main cause to that (confirmed by the data usage of Siri).

Many 4s users are 3g/3gs upgrades or new to the iPhone and thus probably are suddenly confronted with an amazing screen (awesome to watch videos, pretty heavy on data usage) and fast internet usage in general.

I use about 6-10 gb of data a month on my verizon iphone4 but i have unlimited data so i dont have to worry. I can tell you for a fact that siri cannot run on non iphone 4s devices, the hardware is not there to support it. That is the main reason iphone 4s has a bad battery life. its not iOS 5.

There are a lot of reasons that add on up. Siri is part of it, but not all. Things like the GPS enabled auto time setting (by default) such juice too, etc.
