I have 2 iMacs. Both of them came with Snow Leopard, and I installed Lion over SL on both. I have read that some have said that a fresh install of Lion runs faster than loading Lion over SL.

I am having no problems with either iMac, however, will I notice the difference on them if I do a fresh install of Lion? One of the iMacs has 16GB Ram with a Core i7 and an Apple SSD. The other has 8GB Ram, a Core i3 with a mechanical HDD.

What do you think? :)

if you're not having any problems with either one of them then I don't really see the need to do a fresh install. I did a a fresh install on mine because I really needed to, everything was just crashing and acting up now its like new.

I agree with member Andres87. If it's not broke, why try to fix it?

Well....I went against all advice and did a fresh install of Lion on both of my iMacs. The difference is amazing! Both machines are so much faster now! Definitely not my imagination. It's worth the work.

Good work.

The hardest part is again downloading Lion from the App Store and burning to a USB thumb drive.
