Hey guys I have a question for you and would appreciate any useful input that i get back. I have a Apple MacBook Pro 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (17-inch) with 2 gigs of RAM and i want to upgrade to a higher amount of memory. Im running 10.6.8 (lion will be here soon) and i was wondering if i could get 8 gigs of ram to work. I know that on the website crucial.com, their scan only told me to get 4 gigs but i havent found anything helpful if someone can help

also: its a 2008 mac not sure exactly so here are the first few digits of the serial number

Serial Number (system): W88091......
THANKS
and if i can run 8 gigs (or not) please post a link to a good place to buy thanks.
and i believe i need 200 pin ram not 204 pin.

Officially from Apple the 2.5ghz 17" MackBook Pro has a max. ram of 4gigs...but it can actually be upgraded to 6gig. It is not capable of 8gig.

Good places to buy are:

- Crucial.com
- OWC
