I have had a MacBook Pro for about 10 months now and have just purchased an iMac and have come across a problem with hard drives. The iMac has a 250GB SSD and a 2TB Hard Drive. As it is set up any Documents / Pictures I save are being put on to the SSD. It must be possible but I can't find it, how do I allocate the 2TB hard drive as storage for Documents / Pictures

Regards

Your Mac's Specs
2011 13" 10.8 (latest)
Use the SSD as your boot drive.
And the 2TB HDD as your data drive. (for all data, really...)

You need to take your "home" folder and move it to the HDD.

Move Your Mac's Home Folder to a New Location

I followed these instructions for the same thing on my MBP and now the HDD is my drive for data and the other for apps/boot.

Tell me if it works! Good luck, and make sure to BACK UP BEFORE moving or deleting anything please.

Thanks.
