Hello all,

I have a macbook pro and in my keyboard "7,u,j,m" keys stopped working. If i press them several times a set of characters (wing dings i think) or symbols might appear.

The J is in my password so this is bothering me if I'll need to update or upgrade my DJ program. I am also new to MACs :) Would a usb keyboard help get around this or would I get asked for my password for that as well? (im guessing it would) If not would the usb keyboard be affected as well?

Thanks :)

Did you recently or in the past spill any liquids on your MBP keyboard? Even a small amount can do what you're describing. You can try an external USB keyboard to see if it works OK. And yes, having to enter a password has nothing to do with the keyboard, you would still have to enter it.

Hello and thanks for replying!
I didn't spill anything on it as I bought it refurbished. The keys did work for awhile but I'm guessing they might have been the problem before hand. Anyways I hooked up a USB keyboard and changed my password to letters I can use.

Thanks again.
