HD home run need help

Sup y'all I just bought an Hd home run from legato so I can watch tv on my iMac. problem is that it says there are no channels. Is it a problem with my iMac? or is it the cable. I just hook up the home run to my cable outlet,ethernet outlet, and power outlet in the wall. If it is the cable how do I fix it, and do I need like an antenna or something? Thanks
