Hi guys!

I suffered a pretty severe kernel panic on my Macbook Pro (OS: 10.5.7) and nothing resolved it - no safe mode, no single user mode, nada. I was able to boot from the OS DVD and then archive and install the OS again.

I'm hoping you can give me guidance about what to do next?? All my files are entact (yay! Miracle! Backing up NOW!) but I'd specifically like to know if the install corrected the mysterious problem that caused the kernel panic? Is my computer safe to use now? (I'm a little afraid.)

Also, after the re-install I have a whopping 9 gigs of storage left. Ugh!! Is there anything I can do to reduce the amount of memory the archive required?

Thanks for your help! The information in this thread was invaluable to me.
