Word 2011 freezes all the time on mbp lion

I have terrible frustration with msWord (brand new) freezing up on my brand new mbp. I have lost so many hours of work because of this. I have to save every ten minutes in case it freezes up. Surely this is not acceptable and I should return the software? Or maybe I need to re-install?

Any help or suggestions would be enormously appreciated. I have sent a few error reports to apple when Word freezes.

Can you give us some information about your computer (year, model, how much memory does it have?). Also, when the freezing occurs what are you doing in Word? For example: Some users have reported freezing when pasting a large volume of text.

And is freezing happening with any other application or anything else that you might be doing on the computer?
