Final Cut Pro X AVCHD Disk Burning Error

I get an error when trying to burn an AVCHD disk using Final Cut Pro X. It says insert a disk when a disk is already in the drive. Reinserting the disk results in the same error. I have tried different disks and get the same error. Has anyone else seen this error?

I am using the Apple disk drive with a 2011 Mac Mini.

I would appreciate any help

What happens if you save the project as a disk image on your hard drive and then burn that image from another program (like Disk Utility, Toast, Burn etc)?

I tried burning a disk image to the hard drive and then using Disk Utility to burn the disk. Final Cut Pro X only has an option for burning a Blu-ray image to the hard drive. Using this option a burned a standard DVD. The DVD was not compatible with my Blu-ray player. I believe the DVD contained a Blu-ray file structure not an AVCHD file structure which is why it wouldn't play on my Blu-ray player.
