MacBook does not shut down

with my late 2010 2.66 GHZ i7. I just hold down the power button most times as that is the only way to get it to shut down. I do not have the problem with my mid 2011 MBAir 1.8 Ghz Dual Core i7.

Resetting SMC
changed nothing. Still need to power off with the power button.

If the machine is covered by Apple care, make an appointment and take it on in. If the SMC reset didn't work, the problem may be logic related which is something Apple will have to sort out.
