- Macbook 2.16 Intel, 1 GB Memory
I recently increased my Macbook 2.16's (2007) RAM from 1 GB to 4 GB. I've read differing opinions as to the actual, usable memory gained by this increase; anywhere from 2 GB to 3.3 GB.
Also, is there a hard drive replacement that would enhance the performance? I'm hoping to improve my Macbook's capabilities in anticipation of maybe upgrading to Lion from Snow Leopard.
I've read that the "bare-bones" minimum is Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 GB of Ram. Will my add-on of memory and any recommended hard-drive upgrade take Lion's performance on my machine beyond just mediocre?
