laptop as a keyboard mouse for imac?

I needed my desktop (27"imac) for some work out of town. I forgot to take my wireless mouse and keyboard. I do have my laptop with me. Is there a way to use my laptop as the keyboard and mouse for my imac? Thanks all for helping out this ditz!

There are ways to remotely control a Mac like VNC or teamviewer, or a km software switcher like synergy - but all these solutions need to be installed or enabled to use. If you don't have anything like that enabled you are better off getting a cheap keyboard/mouse.

Thanks Ivan- I may have access to an old imac and hoping that keyboard will be compatable.
