I would like to transfer my iTunes library from my PC to my Macbook. I know how to transfer the whole music library, but as on the PC the whole family used the same iTunes, I was just wondering whether there is a way of transferring only certain playlists, as I could just delete all the other music once I have transferred the whole library on the Mac, but when I tried this it didn't seem to delete it from the hard drive, just the iTunes library, and as such seems a bit of a waste of space?

DElete all the tracks from iTunes in the usual way

Reload the whole library and when deleting tracks use Command-delete and you will be prompted to keep the files or move them to the trash.

Ok thanks, one more question - you don't know how long it takes or how big the folder is when you consolidate the files do you? My iTunes library has 25gb of music in, plus apps?

All depends, 25 gig will take a few minutes but shouldn't be in the hours range
