Hello,

This is my first on forums, so go easy on me.
My buddy got me a Snow Leopard for birthday but when I tried installing it, I found out that my Macbook had a faulty optic drive. Went to Mac store and they asked for 150$ to fix it. **** that, my warranty expired and I feel stupid for not checking that macbook when I bought it.
So, now I have a CD with Snow Leopard but can't install. What can I do? Can Apple send me .dmg file for Snow Leopard?

P.S. I can provide picture of that CD if you think I am making up a story. Thanks again!

The easiest way is to replace the defective optical drive yourself or just buy an external USB optical drive. I don't know where you live but here in the US you can buy a USB external optical drive for around $30.
