Whenever I go to google.com it automatically redirects me to some inappropriate website (judge as you wish, I'm more interested in getting the problem fixed)

running Lion.

Tried resetting the browser and emptying cache.

Any suggestions?

G'day and welcome to the forums.

No judging but have you by chance installed any applications such as MacKeeper, CleanMyMac etc?

That or someone had some fun editing your /etc/hosts file.

Open a terminal session and type the following to view its contents:
nano /etc/hosts

Actually, the computer is not mine, so I don't have it in my possession. I just thought it would be easier explained if I referred to it as mine.

I'll should have access to the computer sometime in the next week, and we'll see how it goes.. Thanks for helping out, guys! I appreciate it.
