Reformatting a PC iPod for Mac?

My girlfriend has made the switch... thank god, however now she is wanting to know if it's possible for her to reformat her iPod she used with her PC to use on her eMac now?

Any tips, or does she have to buy a new one?

You dont need to do anything besides put the music on the emac. The windows formatted ipod can be read / written by macs.

The only issue with that will be that she will not be able to update the firmware on the Mac. The next time an iPod firmware update comes out it will have to be done on a PC.

I would just start off having it Mac formatted if she's switched. Just download the latest iPod Updater on her Mac and reformat it using that. Then you'll be all set.

Just make sure you backup all the music on the mac so that you can easily update the reformatted ipod.
