Hey there,
I recently broke my USB-operated headphones and ordered a different model which turned out to be non-USB, but with the good old green and red plugs. The green plug went in the Audio port of the MBP and worked just fine, however, the red one went into the Line-in port but did not work.
I tried using System Preferences -> Sounds in order to choose Line-in as my main microphone source but that did not work either.
Is there a way around this? Or more like, is using a microphone (red plug) through the Line-in even possible?
Thank you.
Note: Those aren't the headphones I purchased, but those plugs (red and green) are the ones I have and am talking about.
