I'm trying to backup my Tiger HD on an 8 GB flash drive. I made a disk image of my drive and put it in the source box of "Disk Utility". I created a folder called "safari" to receive the disk image.

How do I make "Disk Utility" understand that the folder "safari" is really a flash drive plugged into my USB port? How do I assign the USB port as a destination volume?

Is the flash drive mounted on the desktop? If it is, just drag the image and drop it on the flash drive.

Thanks, chscag, I finally got it done, I think. When I checked to see if any thing had been added to the flash drive, several GB's had been added.

The whole thing was moot, anyway. SL loaded OK and melded with the original data.

Thanks, again, for coming to my rescue!
