i have a old pc with most of my photos on it.and a back up external hard drive nearly full as well.now i've swopped over to a mac book pro i5 so i would like to move my photos over.the the pc is about dead so i think just putting the hard drives into caddys like the external hard drive.but all hard drives are in NFTS format i believe.i was going to format one drive to fat 32 so both pc and mac can read and write to it.but the problem is the 4gb file size.whats the best way around this.

cheers

The Mac will be able to read the NTFS drive, but not write to it.

Yep, this.

I just transferred all of my files over from my PC to my new Macbook using a NTFS external hard drive, reads them perfectly and you're able to copy them no trouble.

Whack your hard drive in a caddy and copy away!
