Since upgrading to Lion, whenever I open an application like QuickTime, Preview, etc., all of the previous documents I opened with these programs also appear. How do I modify my settings so that only the item I open actually appears on my screen? Thanks in advance!

Open System Preferences, General. Remove the check from the box that says: "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps"
