OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended) are the specs needed to upgrade.

Is it worth it ?? That can only be answered by you my friend.
For me yes it was worth the upgrade but i had SL on my machine to start with.

The choice is yours now :)

What now you have to think though is it worth upgrading to SL being 10.6.6-10.6.8 which both of these have the MAS which is needed to goto Lion. Tiger is 10.4.x.

So what I'm getting at is you need SnowLeopard 10.6 but need to then update to 10.6.6 or 10.6.8 to get the Mac App Store to be able to dl Lion to install it.
That a little clearer ??

Cheers
