Hi

I have recently upgraded from snow leopard to lion 10.7.2
And i wanted to pair my new magic mouse to my mac pro only to find the bluetooth option has completely gone fro system preferences.

Therefore stopping me doing this.

Does anybody know why?
Or how i can get bluetooth mac on my machine easily so i can pair mouse to mac.

Thankyou so much in advance.
I have spent a great deal of time trying to look into this and there does not seem to be a "correct and or solution.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Bluetooth appears in the Lion System preferences.

Maybe you are not showing it? Hold the "Show All" button and a list of System Preferences appears. Bluetooth should be at or near the top. Use the customize option to show the icon in the preferences.

And do not show your email in a thread. Be ready for scam emails rolling in,

Hi Harry

Thanks for the reply, i already done that, with no luck.
It seems the bluetooth is not available on lion.

Can anyone else comment on this?
Is there some sort of driver i need to download or something?

What is the solution to this?

Thanks

Is the Bluetooth on your Mac Pro factory or a dongle? And you have a tower Mac Pro and not a Macbook Pro notebook correct?

What does Apple System Profiler (About this Mac) say about Bluetooth?

Should be many lines of text commencing with

Apple Bluetooth Software Version 4.0.1f4

Sounds like the Bluetooth card has failed. They do you know. Or another thought ~ have you checked to see if any of the antenna cables have worked loose or free?

On my Mac Pro update to Lion had no effect on Bluetooth.

Hi Harry

Thanks, will check the leads, but surely if one of them was loose other stuff would not work too?

Thanks again

No it does not have Bluetooth from the look of your snaps. It was an option and not standard. From your first post read as if you did have Bluetooth prior to Lion update which may now not be correct?

That also explains the 'no information found' message.
