have a late 2007 macbook pro with os x 10.4.11 and just tried to connect my new ipad to it so I can move files back and forth. However, when I plugged in the ipad, it said I need itunes 10.5, which I downloaded, and then it told me I need os x 10.5 as my operating system. Is there a way around this? Can I update to 10.5 with a free download? I cannot find my original install disc for 10.4.11. I am not super tech savvy, so any laymen advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Leopard 10.5 is the lowest OS version that allows you to connect - but Snow Leopard is the better choice - $29 from Amazon or others.
