I have moved over to IMac from being an IBM user for 26years.

I HAVE MOVED ALL MY FILES ACROSS AND NOW NEED TO CREATE SOME FOLDERS AND RENAME FOLDERS IN EXISTING DIRECTORY I COPIED OVER.

How do you do this or is there a site for dummies?

where did you copy the folders to

OSX is a unix system so you will only have the correct privileges if you copy files into your own user folder - i.e. hard Disk > Users > your folder

How do you do this ...?

You highlight the icon, then click it once so that only the name of the file is highlighted. Then you type over that. Or, you can click again and get a | cursor to allow you to edit as you would in a word processor. The left and right arrow keys will work the same way you're used to as well.

I suppose there is a way to rename things in Terminal, but it might be more of a hassle, and I couldn't tell you how to do it.
