Bluetooth Compatibility

Is iPad bluetooth only compatible with other Apple devices? Pretty much anything I try connecting to, no joy. My last phone, my brand new Blackberry, etc.

iPad 1, iOS up to date, everything else working okay. It detects the other devices I'm trying to connect to, and I get the confirmation numbers, but then I'm told the device isn't supported...

I have a number of non-Apple bluetooth headphones, headsets and keyboards it successfully connects with, so the answer to your first question is "no."

As for phones, iPads don't have any capacity to do Bluetooth file transfer (which I assume is what you're trying to do), with iPhones or any other kinds of phones, so if my guess is right and you're trying to do file transfer, then no that's not going to work. At all.
