just switched from Win7 to MBP with Lion.
Using external monitor set for extended desktop, arranged above MBP display.
Some programs - InDesign 5.5, Acrobat, Finder and Excel for example - let me slide working window to vertically extended desktop.
Other programs like Safari and iCal 'hit a wall' when moving them up. However, if I set the arrangement as left or right, I can move them to the extended desktop. And, if I then change the arrangement to vertical, it stays on the monitor. close it and bam, goes back to the MBP display.
Sure would be nice to be able to move everything up as needed with a simple flip of the wrist.
any one with solution, or at least clues???
thanks in advance - Al Sherlock
