Will creating a new user account delete old files?

Hi everyone, my friend has asked me to hold on to her mac for a couple months, and said i could use it. But then she forgot that she had a pw..

is there a way for me to create a new user account? (w/o the pw)
and if so, would all her files be safe?

I guess this post is linked to your other post on how to create a new admin account from Single User Mode.... no need to do the same thing twice.

To be honest mate, I think this post is dodgy and I have little confidence in all of this.
Let me guess, you don't have the installation disks either ?
To give you the benefit of the doubt, simply ask your friend for the password.

Rest assured, her files are perfectly safe if you can't access the OS -_-
