is there a way to uninstall applications thats safer than just dragging to the trash... there still seems to be alot of related files lingering around... maybe i'm just still used to add/remove programs in windows.

"Safer?"

Unless those lingering files take up too much of your disk space, there's nothing unsafe about Trashing the application.

...just trash the lingering files as well...

.plists will be left over, but these can be "safely" trashed as well.

haha, I think I just realized what you mean by "safely".
Are you worried you'll accidentally delete System files that could be potentially buggering for the computer? If you have any doubts, don't delete, ask... :mac:

You can do a search for the program name and trash all those files as well. You may have to secure empty trash. Sometimes it says its still using some of the files but with secure empty it deletes them no problem.
