Why do I need my Contacts App?

If I need contact info, address, email address, notes, etc., I can just tap my phone app - right?

Huh? the phone app has a short cut to you contacts app. i use the contact app to add contacts without having to go to the phone app. i email,call, and text from my phone not just make calls. sorry i just don't understand to me the contact app is just a given.

long story short i use the contact app to add contacts if need be. and to search my contacts if i have to. sorry if i am not answering your question correctly and welcome to the forums.

Interesting because

my wife just received her iPhone 4s and it did NOT come with a Contacts App. Her transfer of contacts went smoothly though and she can access all the information via her phone app.

I don't mean to suggest something silly but the contacts app, by default, is on the second page of a box fresh iPhone.

It's part of the fixed, standard iOS build so it will be there.

Swipe left to search and find it.

appreciate your kind help. But I am holding her phone in my hand and I have looked at every possible "page," swiping back and forth and I tell you that on this particular phone there is no Contacts App.

Okay - I have an answer now -

Out of the box, the Contacts App was stored in the Utilities Folder.

That's a new one on me!
