I can log in as an Admin but cannot use the same Name and Pass to "Software Update".

I can log in as an Administrator but cannot use the same Name and Password in order to "Software Update". I use MAC OS 10.6.6. It is a Mac Mini. I don't have any installation CD/DVD.

Not sure I understand? You can log on to your machine but can not install software updates using the same login name and password? If your account is an Admin account, you should be able to install updates with that same login name and password. Are you sure it's an Admin account?
