Hello its been awhile since I've been on these forums,
I have a powerbook g4 1.67 that I bought on ebay for basic internet, email, and MS office when I'm at school away from my Mac Pro. Shortly after buying it the DC-Charging board went and I took it to apple for repair. During the repair the logic board fried. They replaced the logic board (so new cpu and gpu), the dc-charging board, and the bottom half of the case. I was only charged for the dc-board. I now have a basically brand new powerbook for $50.
it has 1.5 GB of RAM. Would upgrading it to the max 2GB make a difference for OSX 10.5?
It currently has the OEM 80 GB 5400 rpm HD. Would a modern 5400 rpm drive be faster? Are any solid state drives made for ATA100 interfaces?
Lastly, where do you recommend getting a replacement battery from? I am only getting a hour from a full charge.
Thanks,
Robert
