Open Source Software

OK,

I am looking for some open source software that will let me draw 3d layouts of building interiors. I have a MBP and iPad at my disposal.

If this does not exist, I would like some open source software that would let me top views of building layouts and then let me move the pieces of machinery and layout around. Does such software exist?

Does it need to be OSS? It's not OSS but SketchUp might do the job for you.

I was thinking sketchup but I don't want to pay for it as I am a student. Thats the only reason I was looking for OSS.

What about Blender, has anyone ever used that?

Yep, there's both a free and pro version. Check the free version, it'll likely do what you want.
