Connection timeout trouble

So here is the problem-both my MBP and my wifes MBP lost wireless access and can't reconnect. A connection timeout error pops up. I run 10.6.8 and she runs 10.5.8. I can access with my ipod and droid to the wireless network. We are renting an apartment and get Internet from the owners and they are not having problems. That being the case I can't really mess with the modem. I have deleted and readded the network in my settings and cleared keychain. Tried to enter the password as WEP, WPA, and WPA2. Any other ideas? Trying to work from an iPod touch is hard. Thanks
