I wanted to see if per chance my drive would read the DVD+R and the answer is no. Now it is stuck inside. It never mounted so there is no right click and eject. I have a non Apple keyboard and when I hold F12 it displays the eject symbol on the screen then does nothing. I have rebooted three time to no avail. I even attempted to go into Disc Utilities but there isn't one, just Disk Utilities and only the hard drive is showing.

Only had a Mac for three days and trapped a disc in the drive. How can I get it out please?

Restart the Mac whilst holding down the mouse. It will eject on start up.

Right I think, but, both together will do the same :)

Ok I held both buttons down and it opened! Thanks so much. Not more DVD+Rs in there!

To be honest they shouldn't get stuck, even if they aren't compatible, but it happens. I get the same on my Powerbook sometimes, but with original CD's and DVD's sometimes.
Glad it's fixed though.

Might be a good idea to clean the dust off and out of the tray. Did you pick up this Mac 3 days ago..I would blow the case out. Dust holds heat. Clean the fans as well..If it was my machine. Make it last longer and run cooler.
